In Hank, you find a happy convergence of craftsman and designer; of both the theoretical and the practiced. He has spent his career working in both design and construction which allows him to approach unique building challenges with a varied knowledge base. His experience includes running a two-person design/build shop in New York and working as a staff architect on K-12 school projects in the Seattle area. He enjoys the specfic challenges associated with custom residential construction, and his analytical mind relishes collaborating with architects on atypical design details and scheduling to ensure constructability and that design intent is maintained. Additionally, he is driven to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients built on a mutual understanding of expectations.
Hank holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Oregon and prior to joining Schuchart/Dow was a teaching fellow at the University of Oregon AAA Furniture Studio. He is also a licensed architect in the state of Washington, allowing for streamlined communication with architects and designers while ensuring a successful translation of project details to craftsmen in the field.
He spends as much free time as possible biking, building furniture and hanging out with his family.
